Changing Fate (Knight!Italy X Princess!Reader)

Like I was going to say "Chivalry is not dead!!!". Yap that's right it's not dead, be nice because this is my first story where I actually added the lyrics in it, this is for a contest. Hope you guys enjoy!!!

(Third Pov)

That day, it was raining. It was because princess (Name) wanted to talk to her childhood friend and knight, Feliciano Vargas about something important so there they are inside the white cemented gazebo with a black colored roof to keep them from the rain.

Princess (Name) just stood still, looking at the raindrops outside with sad (E/C) eyes but she tried to be strong, what she's about to do was for her kingdom's sake after all so she hid it with a smile while Feliciano knelt down in one knee patiently waiting for her to speak, whatever she's about to say is something that he won't like finally she spoke in a low voice.

"I had a dream...that dream that all people lived happily. In this weak country which is only sensitive to the other countries, it maybe be the far future. But I believe it. So I am happy if this country can avoid the war by my life as the princess. Hey, it's the last instruction," princess (Name) paused for a moment as she turn around to look at Feliciano and the next words she told him was hard for him.

"See me off...with a smile tomorrow?," it was more of a request than an order that Feliciano can't do. See her off with a smile tomorrow? That is just impossible! He wished that she was just joking but he knew she was not and that this nightmare was real...

I swear that I will…
….never cry if you hope or it.

He can't do anything about it after all he's just a knight that must obey a royalty's order no matter how much he didn't want to do it so he had no choice but to follow. He bow his head respectively, his bangs hid his sad brown eyes that seems like he's going to cry if anyone sees it but he stopped himself knowing he will just embarrass himself in front of the princess now that he's a grown man and he swore that he will never will if she hoped for it. "I-a am completely at your-a service"

The melancholy morning has come
I looked at the clock, 3 hours to the execution
It’s good for this country.
Is it really good?

The day has come...the day that the princess will die to sacrifice herself for her country, the day that Feliciano hated so much. Feliciano sat on his bed sadly...no matter how much he tried to cheer himself up, nothing is working...it must really hurt to know that someone important to him is about to die. Feliciano looked at the clock, 3 hours before the execution. Feliciano knew that (Name) was trying to do the right thing for everyone's sake but is it the right choice? Does she really want to give up her future that's in store for her because she had no choice and that she didn't want anyone to die? 

Before one is aware, in my idea which has
Been sloppy by the friction of the pulse,
I only turned my eyes away
And spoke the true theory without thinking of you
When I noticed, I only thought about myself.

Finally he thought of the people who's important to him who he all failed because he's a coward; Ludwig, Kiku, Elizabeta, Roderich, his older brother Lovino, and everyone else, he wasn't able to help and protect them, he regret that. He realized he turn his back on her, only thinking about himself and his safety...he looked at his trembling hands. Was he still going to be the same coward who waves his white flag, surrendering to the enemy that easily? No! He's not going to be that same person!!! He's not going to fail another person again!

I can now still be in time
Now I must go

He felt a burning feeling in his heart that he knows that it was courage. He still had time to go and stop her! There's no time to waste! He got up from his bed, he run to his cabinet, and he wore his armor. He open his door loudly but didn't bother to close it and went to his horse who's in the stable. Then he ride his horse to the execution place.

The fates laughs at me.

I, who doted, may have been funny.

On his way there, he went into deep thought. Fate must be probably laughing at him right now, thinking that no one can escape the fate that's destined to happen to them though he didn't care...they can laugh all they want but he's going to change her fate, fate can't change what they they are...it's their choice to choose their own fate!

I finally noticed your pain
Hidden behind your words of that day.
If it was so,
Then I had told a tie the whole time.
It’s best for you
I said such nonsense and joined hands with you.
I only ran away.

Then he finally notice the pain behind her words of that day. How can he be such a fool not to notice it? Was that all...a lie? He only run away when (Name) needed him in her sad state...he should have said something that time to help her...what kind of a friend was he? Even so...he shall do this for her to change her fate, she shall have a happy ending which she deserves after all the things she went through...he's going to fight all that stands in his way in accomplishing that dream. 

(With Reader-san)

30 minutes was left, (Name) stood tall with a serious face, it was almost time. She look around and saw no sign of Feliciano, she felt sad but that didn't break her expression, she has to stand strong on her own after all.

(Feliciano's thoughts) 

"The challenger is the seasoned knight who serves his majesty," someone said as they saw me from a far. 

The defense side is the several thousand large, which extends my eyes. The passing each other is the unprecedented malice. The reconciliation which aspired is the misunderstanding which despaired. The mischief of age accelerates gradually. It's like encouraging the good and punishing the evil without the good man. 

No, it's like encouraging the evil and punishing the good without the evil man. 

If it's a dream. I should wake out of the dream, it should be a dream. It's possible to laugh because I'm miserable.

Compared with your life...

The country, 

The people, 

Friends, 

Family, 

My life,

Aren't dear to me!

(Third Pov) 

The time of the execution is approaching
If I’m not in time, everything will be over
I hurry up, as long as my life continues 
I run! I run! I run! 

Feliciano saw that it's almost time for the execution. If he's not in time, everything will be over with (Name) dying and what will happen next? Everything he tried to do will go to waste if that happens so he quicken the speed of his horse who's already tired but he had no choice...(Name's) is on the line...so he will run and run after her to save her.

I kill the old friends 
And betrayed the country I have served.
I abandon the people I must defend 
And I shout the egoism, only you 

Feliciano knew that he's going to kill the old friends because of the reckless thing he's going to do. He betrayed the country he had served since he was a little boy. He abandon the people he must defend from the enemies they have... yet still he did all those things just for her sake.

Am I would betray them, a demon? 
But I'll go 
I don't run away! 

He knew that betraying them will make him a demon. Who cares if everyone thinks of him like that...who cares if he will hate and loath. He's still going to save her...he won't run away anymore!!!

I dance with fate 
The guys who obstruct me... 
...you'll be crushed like dust by me!!!

He felt like dancing with fate, changing what's bound to happen...it's just funny to me that he used to think that no one can change fate but now here he is, changing it. Feliciano spit the blood and rubbed his mouth with his gloves noticing that they were obstructing him. He grabbed his sword, they will be crushed like dust by him, those who gets in his way of saving (Name)!

Even if my right arm is cut
Or I lose my eye, 
It's all right compared with your pain
'Till I tell you the words I haven't been able 
To tell you on that day, 
I'll never die

His right arm was cut off being replaced with bandages to heal it and he lost his eye but it was all right...those things didn't compare to (Name's) pain, all the pain and burden that's in her shoulders...it was more painful for him than his own pain. He wasn't able to tell her the words he wanted to say, in fear that nothing will happen but now he didn't care. He'll never die with regrets! And so he fought them all on his own till he was able to get there to the execution. 

Feliciano finally made it through, he can see her above with rope around her...she's going to hang herself to make peace with the other country...no he can't let that happen! He rushed through the crowd and was able to meet her face to face. He knelt down on his knees in front of her and called her. "Your-a majesty..." 

"You...," (Name) was shock to see him there, he was happy to her happiness but she saw his right arm was cut and he had only one eye left, what just happened to him? She looked at him in shock as she said it in a low voice. 

"It's nice you're well. I'm sorry about my appearance...has become so miserable and I have broken the last instruction to you. I'm unqualified as your knight...but...I can't...see you off...with a smile," he smile at her seeing that she was at least still well. As he said those words, it made (Name) almost cry but she blink it all away, she didn't want him to see her looking so weak after all. Then he said those last words that shock her from him with such confidence maybe by singing, he will understand. 

"Don't rescue me...I'll stop the war with my life. Please, see me off with a smile...," she sang but he frown and cut her off with a loud voice. 

"No!" 

"Even if the world is dyed to any color, I-a won't desert you-a. I-a swore it. I-a looked at the tears going down your-a cheek and I-a heard the voice in your-a heart," he sang back. Tears were forming in her (E/C) eyes, she closed her eyes as her lips were formed in a frown, and then she smiled at Feliciano that he said those words she wanted to hear from him. Feliciano jump up and cut off the rope around (Name) and held her waist tightly to her shock as he continue to smile at her. 

I break fate 
I repelled everything 
and gripped your hands strongly
You break fate as well 
You abandon the country you love 
And gripped my hand strongly 

Feliciano then hold on her hands strongly, it was so small, so fragile, and warm...that he felt warmness and content with it. She was the same as him breaking fate like it was just a piece of paper that can be crushed if you wish so. Soon, a tear fell rolled down her cheek and she smiled back, holding on his hand as well. 

I kill fate with you 
If we are together, the present time and the future time,
If you hope, I swear I will never let go of your hands 
Which have been tied till the end for a long time
Even if I antagonize everything 
My life is with you forever till your life has ended 

Feliciano wrapped his black large cloak around them as he carried her till they were sitting on his horse, they passed everyone who looked so shock and angry in what Feliciano was doing with their princess but he didn't care about them and continued anyways. Feliciano pulled the horse rein and the horse moved quickly, they finally were together. They broke fate with their actions, as the horse run, (Name) kept hold on Feliciano's hand as he did the same thing. No matter how time passes, he will always be there for her till the day she dies...he swore. 

---(Narrative Pov)---

Afterwards, in this country, the execution which was an apology, hadn't been done, was rushed into the war by the angers of other countries. The country was ruined soon. The whereabouts of the unknown knight who had obstruct the execution and the dirty princess who had run away from the execution. It's likely to be talked about with another story. 

---(Bonus part)--- 

(Note: My own theory of what happened next which is not true...) 

A loud sound of a little child was heard. The mother who's name is (Name) Vargas also known as the runaway ex-princess of the ruined country called (C/N) of the child rushed to her child. She pulled her child in a tight hug to comfort him till he calm down finally she asked her child in a loving and concern tone. "Feli, my dear. What happened?" 

The child who's name is Feli Vargas wiped off the tears of his face and pointed at a book that he dropped on the floor. (Name) frown at the book, maybe the story was that sad that made Feli cry but not this loud, she wonder why. "Well, I-a borrowed this book from a friend...it's about you-a and papa where you-a were an evil queen and papa is the servant who serves his queen faithfully even if it means he's going to die..." 

Oh that figures. They must have change their story because (Name) that the people hated her and Feliciano for what they did so it's natural for someone to write a different yet similar story like this. (Name) smile at Feli and gave her another hug. "Feli. It doesn't what others think of us...as long as we, three are together. It means nothing so please don't cry..." 

"Grazie mama," Feli was so happy that he got parents like them. It made him feel fortunate to have them, he wonder in the future...will he meet a girl like his mama? 

"Feli! (Name), bella! I-a made pasta!," Feliciano shouted from the kitchen as he placed the bowl of pasta on the table. (Name) pull away from Feli and grabbed his tiny hands, smiling brightly at him. 

"Let's go?" 

"Si," and they went to the kitchen to eat with Feliciano like a happy family.
